1. Are there any vehicle
ferries to or from the Western Shore?
No. There are currently no
vehicle ferries crossing the Chesapeake Bay. Crisfield has
ferries going to and from Smith and Tangier Islands. They are
PASSENGER ferries only.
2. When is the Clam Bake?
The J.
Millard Tawes Crab and Clam Bake is always held the third Wednesday
in July at Somers Cove Marina. Please visit our EVENTS page

3. When is the Crab Derby?
The
National Hard Crab Derby is held annually on Labor Day Weekend (Friday, Saturday and

We're happy to provide packages of
information to those thinking about relocating to the Crisfield
area. Our package usually includes information about the city
taxes, a local newspaper, information on real estate, maps, general
information on the Crisfield area, and lists of major employers and
