A
Message from the Governor
Robert
L. Ehrlich, Jr., Governor of the State of Maryland sent a message to
the Crisfield Chamber of Commerce congratulating the Chamber on
their efforts, success and support.
The message was read at the
Chamber's Annual Awards Banquet by a State representative. The
text of the message is written below.
Dear Members of the Crisfield Chamber of Commerce:
Please allow me to extend my sincere gratitude for your thankless
dedication to nurturing local business over the years. My
administration realizes Crisfield is a rapidly growing city, meaning
exciting opportunities for new businesses and the expansion of
already-established ones.
Rest assured that you have the full-fledged
support of the Ehrlich Administration as you rise to meet the
challenges of Crisfield’s expanding economy. Also know that we will
continue to uphold our commitment to commerce, meaning continued
support for businesses — both large and small.
Thanks to your hard work, I am confident that the Crisfield
Chamber of Commerce will continue to be a leader in the state. While
events such as the National Hard Crab Derby and the J. Millard Tawes
Crab and Clam Bake continue to generate national attention to
Crisfield and the state, your organization has not forgotten its
roots with ongoing encouragement for new business upstarts. Also
admirable are your close relationships with countless cultural,
educational, and service organizations in the community.
Lastly, I would like to personally commend your president, Steve
Marshall, who spoke out against the recent override of my veto of
the Fair Share Health Care Fund Act. I appreciate this brave act and
want you to know your Chamber’s actions have not gone unnoticed.
The Crisfield Chamber of Commerce is a wonderful ambassador for
the State of Maryland, promoting its cultural treasures and business
ventures in an aggressive manner that others should look to as an
example. Please enjoy your evening as you celebrate all that the
Chamber has accomplished, and all of your good deeds to come.
Regards,
Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr.
Governor
