square feet. They also found a need for an assisted living area. So the plan has
been submitted for improvements to hospital and nursing home, with an assisted
living space. They have 18 months to finalize the contract and 3 years to get
the building done. They are beginning a fund drive and are asking the chamber
for a donation. Steve will have the finance committee look at that.
Charlotte Scott, chairperson for the Candidate’s Forum, gave a report.
Approximately 300 people were in attendance. It went very well, with all
candidates very respectful of each other. The budget was $1,000.00 and $869.33
was spent. Charlotte also shared an email she received from Frank Urban, the
moderator. We will also be giving Frank $50.00 gift certificate to the new
Captain’s Galley for his help on the forum.
There will be a fishing tournament meeting tonight at 7:00 p.m. at fire hall.
Volunteers have called the office to help, which is greatly appreciated. The
kick-off party will Thursday, June 22nd. Jay Tawes is helping with the financing
of the tournament. We appreciate Jay’s help!
